The head of the Islamic City Council of Qom says the Islamic councils of cities and villages speak on behalf of the people before the officials, noting that this institution is the most direct institution between the people and the government.
Dr. Hossein Eslami made the remarks in the 38th official and public session of the Islamic City Council of Qom.
In the seventh and one hundred and third articles of the constitution, the Islamic councils of cities and villages are recognized as one of the important pillars of management and decision-making in the Islamic Republic of Iran, he stated.
All officials and government institutions are obliged to implement the resolutions and decisions of the Islamic councils of cities and villages within the limits of the approved laws, and the law guarantees the implementation of the resolutions of the councils, he added.
