Ahead of the upcoming International Quds Day, the mayor of Qom has issued a message on this occasion, marking the event.
Dr. Seyغed Morteza Saghaiannejad issued a message celebrating the arrival of World Quds Day.
Imam Khomeini’s thoughtful measure in naming the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day after the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution indicates the fact that the struggle against arrogance and colonialism is a divine duty and mission that is not limited to specific time and place, he wrote.
The Islamic Revolution of Iran was the starting point of contemporary history to show the immortality of the tyrants and the destruction of the rebels, he said.
And finally, the divine will for freedom and liberation from slavery and the determination of destiny by the people themselves will take place, he added.
The march and commemoration of Al-Quds Day in the 43rd year is a symbol and a sign not only to declare support for Palestine and the Palestinians but also it is a call from all the oppressed and free people around the world to fulfill the divine promise to eradicate the oppression of the oppressors and the injustice of the arrogant, the mayor added.
After a two-year hiatus caused by the coronavirus restrictions, this year, the preparations have been made for the wide participation of people from all walks of life in this great political, social and cultural event, he added.
I hope that this epic presence will once again show the unity and solidarity of the Iranian nation to all the ill-wishers of this holy establishment so that they know that any mistake in enmity with Iran and the Iranians will not go unanswered, he concluded.
The International Quds Day is an annual event during which ralliers voice their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Israeli regime.
