The mayor of Qom issued a message praising the glorious presence of the people in the February 11 rallies to mark the 43rd victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad issued a message commemorating February 11, the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and hailed the presence of the revolutionary people in the drive-in rallies.
The Islamic Revolution of Iran was a unique blessing that with relying on the role of the people and the unity and solidarity of the nation along with the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini, could defeat the Pahlavi regime and raise the flag of the Islamic government in Iran, he wrote.
Now and after 43 years, the turning point and reliance of this holy establishment is still on the support of the people, Saghaiannejad stated.
And wherever people are present, success and victory await, and where the role of the people is ignored, doomed to decline and failure, he added.
There are, however, restrictions in place for the rallies being held in Qom and other cities classified as “red” on the country’s color-coded COVID-19 map.
In those cities, people join the demonstrations on wheels, with cars, motorcycles, and bicycles instead of traditional marches.
The Iranian nation overthrew the despotic regime of Pahlavi, which was fully supported by the United States in the winter of 1979. The struggle against the shah regime reached full fruition on February 11, 1979.
