The acting head of transportation and traffic deputy of the municipality has announced that Qom municipality is ready to implement a ‘reducing and controlling air pollution’ plan in the city.
In a meeting with the Director General of Environmental Protection of Qom Province on Monday, Masoud Tabibi stressed the development of clean transportation in the city of Qom.
Touching upon the need to carry out the clear air law with the cooperation of all related organizations, Tabibi said that Qom municipality has created the necessary infrastructure for the implementation of the ‘reducing and controlling air pollution’ plan in the city.
He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of traffic police in implementing this project across the city, adding it will be implemented in the near future.
The municipal official also emphasized the necessity of changing the citizens’ attitude towards using clean transportation.
In order to create an effective culture in this area, a working group should be formed for more coordination between the Environment Organization and the Deputy Minister of Transportation and Traffic of the municipality and other stakeholders, he noted.
It is worth mentioning that Vahid Borzoo, head of air quality control in Qom Municipality, also announced in the meeting that the municipality is ready to build the necessary infrastructure for the development of clean transportation.
