Mayor: Per capita green space of Qom to reach 26 m2

The mayor of Qom Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad has announced that the municipality seeks to increase the city’s per capita green space to 26 square meters in the second five-year strategic and operational plan named “Qom 1404”.

Saying the city’s green space is now more than 20 square meters, Dr. Saghaiannejad reiterated that the municipality is trying to extend the per capita green space to 26 square meters to increase the stay time of pilgrims in Qom.

He also emphasized the families’ vitality and health, saying that given the dry climate of the city, Qom urban management has prioritized the development of green space to provide the citizens with the opportunities to have outdoor picnics.

He referred to Alavi and Ghadir parks as the two main recreational places in the city, adding the electricity supply has been increased to the centers recently.

Touching upon the inauguration of Alavi amusement park, the mayor stated that a TeleSage has also been built in this park and will be available to the public in the near future.

Following the “Qom on the path of development” plan to inaugurate and operate urban projects on a weekly basis, Khezr Nabi Park will be launched soon and the 1,000-hectare park will gradually be completed, he noted.

He went on to say that the 1,000-hectare park, which is unique in the country, includes 9 large parks and will be the center for the city’s recreational and tourism projects.

He finally expressed satisfaction with the progress of projects, saying about 890 projects have been defined for this year, which we hope to be able to implement.
