Qom mayor stresses interaction among cultural, historical & religious cities

In a message on the occasion of National Shiraz Day on the 15th day of Ordibehesht in the Persian calendar that falls on May 4, the mayor of Qom emphasized the necessity of interaction among cultural, historical and religious cities.

Dr. Seyed Morteza Saghaiannejad extended his congratulations on the occasion of Shiraz Day to Heidar Eskandarpour, Shiraz Mayor, the city’s officials, and citizens, noting the need to strengthen the relations and interaction among cultural, historical and religious cities.

Cities Day is an opportunity to introduce the great capacities of cities, which can be used by others in addition to the citizens of each city, the mayor stated.

Saghaiannejad went on to say that naming the 15th of Ordibehesht as “Shiraz Day” is a chance to better introduce the city, whose religious, historical and cultural background has made it a lasting symbol for recognizing Iran’s civilization.

Ordibehesht 15 in the Iranian calendar (May 4) has been designated as National Shiraz Day due to its historical and cultural importance as well as its unique beauty.

Every year on national Shiraz Day, special programs are held by Shiraz Municipality, but this year, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the historical, cultural, and literary places of Shiraz refused to host people.
