Managing Director of Qom Municipality Cultural, Artistic and Sports Organization announced that 500 socio-cultural programs have been implemented on the occasion on of Qom Day in the city.
Abolghasem Moghimi made the remarks at the first cultural gathering and signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the municipalities of pilgrimage cities in the field of tourism, which was held in Qom Municipality headquarter.
Moghimi stated that the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Masoumeh (as) in Qom was named as Qom Day, and this is the second year that Qom Municipality has prepared special programs on this occasion.
While stressing this year, due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, Qom Day programs took a different form, he outlined that Qom Day programs were tried to be held by observing health protocols.
Referring to the programs performed by Qom Municipality to mark Qom Day, he noted that exhibition of old and new photographs of the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS), implementation of more than 500 socio-cultural programs in the city, content providing for the citizenship lessons’ plan, holding the poetry night of the shrine and etc. are among the measures of the municipality in commemoration of Qom Day.
Elaborating on the municipality’s plans in the field of self-sacrifice and martyrdom, the municipality official reiterated that building 12 busts of martyrs, opening of Shahid Zainuddin Park and Martyrs’ Memorial Park and also inauguration of more than 6 urban parks are among the measures that have been done on Qom Day this year.
