Qom’s mayor offers condolences on Kabul university attack

The mayor of Qom sent a condolence message to Kabul mayor following the deadly November 2 attack on the city’s University which left 40 killed and wounded.

While extending sincere condolences, Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad stated that this terrorist attack with its blind rage has not only targeted the innocent citizens of the brotherly country of Afghanistan, but also a scientific and academic environment.

In his message to Muhammad Dawood Sultanzoy, mayor of Kabul, Saghaiannejad noted that terrorism, in its essence, is at odds with the spread of science, culture and knowledge.

The Qom myaor went on to said that all Islamic religions are opposed to terrorism in all of its forms, while adding that committing such horrific acts in the name of Islam not only incites Islamophobia, but also portraits a harsh image of the religion of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to the world.

He reiterated that this is while Islam is a religion based on love and Friendship.

Wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, he asserted that the people of Qom share the grief of this unfortunate incident with the people of Kabul, and I, as the mayor of Qom, offer my deep condolences to your Excellency and express my condolences to the families of the survivors of this incident.

At the end, the mayor of Qom said, “Inshalllah, we will witness the eradication of terrorism and the establishment of peace and stability in the West Asian region and around the world under the banner of unity and solidarity among the people of the region.
