Commemoration ceremony held for martyrs of 1987 Qom airstrike

Coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of a group of citizens of Qom in the air attack of the Baath regime in 1987, a ceremony was held to commemorate by laying flowers on the graves of these martyrs in Golzar Shahaday-e Ali Bin Jafar (AS) with the participation of Qom Municipality.

On he 21st of December, the anniversary of the martyrdom of more than 100 citizens of Qom in the air attack of Iraq’s Saddam regime, a commemoration ceremony was held with the presence of provincial officials and city management group in Golzar Shahaday-e Ali Bin Jafar (AS).

In this ceremony, Molai, the head of the cultural and social commission of the Islamic City Council, Hosseini, the CEO of the municipality’s terminals organization, Kalanterzadeh, the director general of communications and international affairs of the municipality, Tabatabainejad, the head of the cultural, social and sports organization of the municipality, and other city managers were present.

The Iran-Iraq war which lasted for eight years from 1980 to 1988 was among the longest wars in the 20th century with huge losses of life and property on both sides.
